STAN - The Second Tier Advisors Network
What is STAN?
STAN is a membership network for second tier advisors in London.
Who can join?
Membership is open to all second tier advisors working in greater London. When we say 'second tier advisor' we mean anyone who spends the majority of their work time advising voluntary and community organisations: You might be a Small Groups Development Worker, a Capacity Builder or a specialist Funding Advisor - no matter what your job title you are welcome to join.
We also accept membership from those who aren't advisors but who might be interested in second tier advice; for example Grants Officers, Managers and Training Officers. These individuals are classified as 'STAN Friends' and can access all the network's services apart from some advisors only Learning Sessions.
Membership of STAN is on an individual basis and costs £25 per organisation per year. To find out more about how to join and to download our membership form, please see the membership page.
What do we do?
STAN exists to provide information and learning, and to bring its members together for peer learning, networking and mutual support.
We offer:
- Regular half day Learning Sessions on organisational development themes like social enterprise, governance and fundraising
- Quarterly Getting Together conferences on hot topics identified by members
- Monthly e-bulletins featuring information, events and relevant news
- A paper newsletter published three times a year including features by network members
- The STAN members area - a password protected section of our wesbite containing resources, notes and presentations from events and past issues of the e-bulletins and other publications
- Access to the STAN Directory to help you access other members' skills and experience (this will be online soon)
- An annual social event so that you can meet and talk with your colleagues in an informal and relaxed sort of way
