VCS Assist

VCS Assist is a new programme of free organisational support for London's VCS employment and skills providers, launching in October 2012.

VCS Assist helps organisations:

  • improve project performance and outcomes for their clients
  • develop partnerships with other organisations, including prime contractors and colleges
  • build stronger links with local employers to help your clients into work
  • improve systems for monitoring and claims paperwork
  • stay up-to-date on new funding and contracting opportunities

The structured programme of support available includes:

  • one-to-one surgery support for frontline organisations
  • a structured programme of sub regional workshops
  • cross-sector policy forums and networking events
  • a mentoring programme with larger charities and businesses
  • regular email bulletins
  • customised toolkits

VCS Assist is delivered in partnership by London Voluntary Service Council (LVSC), London Training and Employment Network (LTEN), Black Training and Enterprise Group (BTEG), and Rocket Science. It continues the support previously provided by London Voluntary Sector Training Consortium (LVSTC).

VCS Assist is part-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF). ESF in England is investing in jobs and skills - focusing on people who need support the most and helping them fulfil their potential.
