Tuesday 23rd November 2010,
Clifford Chance, Canary Wharf, London E14 5JJ
This unique half-day event, held in
partnership with Trust for London, commemorated LVSC's
100th annual general meeting - marking 100 years
of tackling poverty and inequality in the capital.
The event focussed on why poverty and
income inequality is of relevance to all Londoners, particularly at
a time when the capital is not only still recovering from the
recession but also facing severe cuts in public sector spending.

Sarah Teather, MP for Brent Central
and Minister of State for the Department for Education,
started the plenary sessions, which analysed the specific issues
facing London and identified potential action. Read
the full ministerial speech here.
This was
followed by a number of focussed case studies looking at specific
issues and practical solutions being implemented by the voluntary
and community sector in London, whilst profiling initiatives that
work to tackle inequality.
All
delegates received a free mini guide to inequality in London
to take away for further reference.
