London Infrastructure Development Plan (LIDP)

The latest London Infrastructure Development Plan (LIDP) was launched on 21st May 2008 by Catherine Johnstone, Acting Chief Executive of Capacitybuilders.

Since the publication of the first LIDP in 2006, the London Regional Consortium (LRC) sub-groups have been delivering projects to benefit infrastructure and frontline organisations in London and much new evidence has been gathered.

The 2008 LIDP will help to deliver the national ChangeUp objectives of modernisation, embedding quality and improving support to Third Sector organisations.

Summary
The LIDP 2008 presents a compelling vision and viable action plan for developing support to ensure a vibrant and thriving Third Sector in the capital. This will be crucial in helping to deliver better, more cost effective public services as well as increased health, wealth and quality of life for the people of London.

This Plan provides a summary of the findings gathered over the past year, a strategy for developing infrastructure support to 2014 and a regional business plan for 2008-2011.

The strategy for 2008-2014 sets out the LRC’s long-term aspirations for Third Sector infrastructure support and delivery in each of the priority areas identified through consultation and research.

The LRC and its sub-groups are proposing seven modernisation projects to improve infrastructure support in premises, social entrepreneurship, communications, equalities, ICT, volunteering and workforce development.
