The Children and Young People's Support Service
What is the Children and Young People's Support Service?
Second-tier support, advice and information services for London-Councils funded Children and Young People's (CYP) voluntary and community organisations, working under the following priority areas:
- Improve educational attainment of disadvantaged children and young people
- Reduce bullying and its impact
- Reduce involvement of young people (aged 11-24) in violent crime - with an emphasis on the prevention of involvement in gang culture, knife and gun crime
- Helpline for children and young people
The CYP support service is funded by London Councils for a period of four years (2009-2012).
What do we offer?
- Opportunity to network, share information and good practice with other London Councils funded CYP organisations and projects
- Regular events and training
- Timely information on funding opportunities, policies and processes relevant to organisations working with children and young people through the dissemination of a bi-monthly news bulletin
- Access to information, research, advice and web-based resources
- Promotion and awareness-raising of London Councils funded organisations' work
