Support and networking for development workers
The STAN Space; an online forum for people that work with organisations
- Are you a development worker, community development worker, community accountant, grants officer, funding advisor, or something similar?
- Do you advise, support or train voluntary and community groups?
- Do you work with social entrepreneurs, trustees, paid staff members or volunteers?
- Are you interested in developing your knowledge and skills on issues relating to the management of voluntary and community sector organisations?
- Do you think you might benefit from talking to your colleagues in the sector and sharing experiences and resources?
If so then the STAN Space might be for you!
The STAN Space is an online community for voluntary and community sector people, particularly those that are interested in infrastructure, development and community development work. It was originally established as part of STAN, the Second Tier Advisors Network, a development work support project that LVSC ran until August 2010. Membership used to be restricted to STAN members only, but now the project has closed we've opened it up so that anyone can join.
Membership of the Space is free and the sign up process is quick and easy - just click the link above or go to http://stanlvsc.ning.com/ and follow the instructions.
If you're based (or even just interested) in London and would like to talk about the policy issues, practicalities and pitfalls of working in and for the voluntary and community sector then please do sign up. The more people that join in the discussions the better and richer the community will become.
Report from our last meeting
On 9th July 2010 STAN helped to organise an event called 'What Next? The Future of Voluntary and Community Action.' If you'd like to find out more about the event and the issues discussed on the day, please download the report below:
